Studying for an ILM Qualification

Stepping Up Training is an Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM) Approved Centre. This means that we can offer you the opportunity to achieve qualifications recognised across the UK and internationally.

The ILM is the UK’s leading provider of work based management and leadership qualifications, and ILM qualifications are well suited to managers working in voluntary and statutory organisations.  Your ILM qualification forms part of the national Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) which means it is part of a recognised system with clear quality standards and progression routes. This short video talks through some of the reasons why you might consider taking an accredited qualification in the management of volunteers.

Why take a qualification in managing volunteers?

If you complete a short “Award” qualification, you can choose to progress onto a longer “Certificate” or “Diploma” programme.  Or if you complete a qualification at Level 3 for example, which would be suited to your first line management role, you can move onto higher level qualifications as your career progresses.  The next short video covers some of the questions you might like to ask yourself when considering a vocational qualification.

How do I choose the right qualification?

Studying with the ILM offers additional benefits, free studying membership and access to a wealth of resources.  You can also have the reassurance of working with a centre which has been through the ILM’s quality assurance process, and since working with the ILM as tutors and now as a centre, we have received very positive feedback on our high standards and professionalism.
